Nos Estados Unidos andam a discutir como gastar uns milhares de milhões para promover a Banda Larga.

There were state regulators, owners of farm country Internet providers and the ever-recession-proof squadrons of lobbyists, all crowding to get into a rock concert where the lead singers were out sick and the lyrics hadn’t been written yet.


A questão é exactamente a Banda Larga (até porque os EU têm problemas infrastruturais devido à extensão do seu território). Nem sequer é a actividade lobística que deveria ser institucionalizada.
O problema é que é isto que acontece quando o Estado acena com dinheiro. Na prática funciona assim: dê cá uns 50% dos seus impostos para dar aos men-in-black e comprar uma auréola para mim.
